marble cake muffins

Ingredients for the marble cake muffins

For the muffins:
5.3 oz. (150 g) butter, softened
4.4 oz. (125 g) brown sugar
3 medium eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (120 ml) milk (or plant based milk)
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. milk (or plant based milk)

For the decoration:
3.5 oz. (100 g) chocolate glaze
m&m’s (smarties) or sprinkles

Preparation

1. The preparation

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a muffin tin with 12 muffin paper liners and set aside.

2. The production of the dough

Add the butter and brown sugar to the large bowl mariella and mix on high speed until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one after another and mix well after each addition. enzo is very well suited for egg separation. Add the vanilla extract and mix in. Mix the flour with baking powder, and salt and then add together with the milk to the bowl mariella and mix until just combined. Divide the batter between the paper liners, filling them up only about 2/3. Mix the remaining dough with the cocoa and the 2 tbsp. of milk to get a chocolate batter – divide that between the paper liners and mix a bit with the batter already in the liners. To get some swirls a wooden skewer works best. Bake for 22-25 minutes. Check with a toothpick in the centers of the muffins if they are done. If there is no dough sticking to the toothpick the muffins are done. Leave to cool slightly on paolo, the practical cake container with air holes.

3. The Surprise

To hide the sweet surprises (for example chocolate lentils) in the individual muffins, you have to carefully cut off each muffin lid. Now you should spoon some of the dough out of the muffin or carefully cut out some cake with a knife. Fill the empty hole inside with chocolate lentils.Put the muffin lid back on the muffin. In the next step (see step 4.) The chocolate glaze will fix the “lid” back on the muffin, and you will not notice that the contents have been “replaced”. ?

4. The eyes eats first

Heat up the chocolate glaze according to the instructions on the package (in a water bath or carefully in the microwave). Then the „prepared muffins“ and their lids can be fixed with the chocolate glaze and the complete muffins can be brushed or doused with choc.topping from above. Beautiful effects can be achieved with applied chocolate lentils or colourful sprinkles. As soon as the glaze is firm, the party can start!
